Will Gemini Argon be released on October 13, 2026?

Google's own announcement, dated 30 September 2026, says Gemini 4 Argon is rolling out to a set of trusted cyber defenders through its Fairwind Program. That is an announcement with restricted access, not a general release, and a closed or private tier does not count here. Google's blog says it will keep gathering feedback from early testers while it iterates on guardrails, before making Argon available to developers, enterprises and consumers "as soon as possible". That is an aspiration, not a dated pledge. The post also says Google is taking part in the U.S. government's voluntary process for pre-release model access while it gradually expands access. A trade report published on 1 October carried an update dated 6 October. It said Argon remained limited to Fairwind participants and did not yet appear in the Gemini API's public model list as of that date. It also said Google had not given a date for wider release. That is third-party reporting, and it says nothing about what happened after 6 October. Google's materials say the paid Gemini API and Google AI Ultra subscribers come next, and they list introductory pricing. Those are signs of a planned rollout, but without a date. A sceptic who has watched announcements slip will note that Tuesday 13 October is a single day, and the supplied evidence gives no sign that this is the day.
