Will Bitcoin reach $87,500 in October?

Bitcoin last traded at 81,596.85 USD on Coinbase at 21:01 UTC on October 16, and Binance's own price page showed $81,902.89 earlier that day. The target sits at $87,500 on Binance's BTC/USDT one-minute highs, so the coin needs a real push from here. The forecast leans toward Bitcoin not getting there by the October 31 deadline. The quant read backs that up. A simple model using the last 349 hourly closes puts realised volatility at 1.7% per day, or 33% annualised, with 14.3 days left. It assumes no drift and ignores scheduled announcements, and it still points to a fairly modest chance of a touch at $87,500. The tape is not dead, though. Binance's price page showed Bitcoin up 1.97% over 24 hours. Its October 3 daily candle ran from 84,518.00 to 84,962.20 at the high, so the market has traded closer to this level this month. The overhead is crowded. A Binance market note dated October 10 flagged resistance at $85,000 to $87,000 and support around $80,400 to $82,000. A note dated October 16 called $80K to $90K the range to watch, with strength building above $84K and more downside risk below $80K. It also cited rising rate-hike expectations as a possible pressure on crypto. The thing to watch is whether Bitcoin can clear $84K and then push through the $85,000 to $87,000 resistance zone on strong volume. If it can't, $87,500 stays out of reach.
