Claude Fable 5.1, launched September 1, remains Anthropic's newest Fable model

Anthropic's platform release notes record the launch of Claude Fable 5.1 (claude-fable-5-1) on September 1, 2026, as the successor to Claude Fable 5, which launched on June 9. That is below the 5.2 threshold, so neither release can count here. The market opened on October 28, and only a newer Fable model made public after that date would qualify. The latest release notes, whose most recent entry is dated November 2, 2026, cover a message-threads beta and an Opus 4.8 fast-mode deprecation. They do not announce a Fable 5.2 or Fable 6. The models overview still recommends Claude Fable 5.1 for demanding reasoning and long-horizon agentic work. Another Anthropic page lists Opus 5.5 as a latest release, described as performing at the level of Fable 5.1 on most work. Anthropic's own pages therefore still present Fable 5.1 as the top of the Fable line. The forecast leans toward no release by November 5 for that reason. The window is short, ending on Thursday, November 5, and the retrieved official pages as of November 3 point to no newer Fable model. This rests only on the records gathered. It does not show what Anthropic has planned. The thing to watch is the Anthropic news page and the Claude Platform release notes. A new entry naming a Fable model at 5.2 or above, open to the general public, would change the picture quickly.
